If you are thinking of leaving EE and want to keep your old number, you will need to obtain your EE PAC code.
Follow the step by step instructions on how to get your EE PAC code:
- Call EE on 150 free from an EE phone or 07953 966 250 from any other phone.
- EE must supply you with your PAC code within 2 days. They usually send your PAC number via SMS within 2 hours. On receiving the PAC code it will be active for 30 days.
- In the meantime, you should order a new mobile phone and select a package from your new network provider.
- If you’re ordering a new mobile phone online, insert the PAC number that EE provided you into the relevant space on the website when placing your order. Alternatively, once you have received your PAC number you can call your new network provider and give them the code over the phone.
That’s it! You will receive a temporary number until your old number is transferred to your new network. (This could take up to 3 days).

How long is the EE to EE number transfer time?
EE Customers that have upgraded their EE mobile contract, will receive a new SIM card that simply needs activating. The EE to EE number transfer time is ordinarily done immediately. In rare cases, there could be a wait time of up to 48 hours.
You should still be able to use your old SIM card in your new handset. However, if your new phone requires a different sized SIM or the SIM is damaged or faulty, you should replace it with the new one.
It’s important to know that if you received a new phone and SIM with a new number you didn’t upgrade. In fact, if you received a SIM with a new number, it would indicate that you actually took out a new contract. Therefore, you would need to speak to EE to cancel the new contract agreement. Your old number won’t be able to be transferred to the new SIM if the old contract has already ended.
Can I get my EE PAC code without calling?
Currently, customers can’t get their EE PAC code without calling. However, from July 1st 2019, mobile customers will be able to switch to a new mobile provider by sending an SMS text message in one day. This is great news for all contract and PAYG customers on all networks.
In the meantime, to obtain your EE PAC number, follow the step by step instructions shown above.
